Video: Electoral Members of the Socialist Equality Party support campaign against Australia’s anti-democratic laws

In this video, electoral members of the SEP call on supporters to join the campaign against anti-democratic legislation rushed through the Australian parliament on August 26. The laws demand that smaller political parties, including the SEP, provide a list of 1,500 members or face deregistration, meaning they cannot run under their own names in elections. This is treble the previously required number.

The electoral members relate the new anti-democratic laws to the growing working-class opposition to the destruction of jobs and social conditions and the inadequate measures of governments that have allowed the spread of the COVID-19 virus to hit record levels. The reckless and dangerous reopening of the schools will place children in the front line of the virus.

As part of the campaign against these laws, video participants call viewers to join the party as electoral members today.
