Testing is on the verge of collapse as thousands wait for days to get an appointment and the track and trace system is in an utter state of chaos. The infection rates are doubling every week, hospital admissions are on the rise and deaths are increasing. All of this was foreseeable and predictable. The government’s response, backed and supported by the Labour Party and the trade unions, is to continue with the deadly reopening of schools and universities in the interests of continuing the production of wealth for the rich.
