Horror over Israel’s genocide of Palestinians in Gaza, as well as shock and anger over the Albanese Labor government’s support for this onslaught, are driving workers and young people to seek a political alternative to the increasingly barbaric status quo.

Many are also beginning to see the connections between deepening austerity and inequality domestically, and escalating military expenditure, as Australia prepares to play a critical role in US-led conflict on multiple fronts, including Russia, China and the Middle East.

At the continuing mass protests against Israel’s genocide, in working-class neighbourhoods, and on university campuses, workers and young people have shown a powerful attraction to the SEP, the only party with a socialist program and perspective to fight war, inequality and their source, the capitalist system.
