Australia: SEP election candidates outline socialist anti-war program on podcast

On Monday night, the Socialist Equality Party’s candidates for the Senate in New South Wales (NSW) were featured on the Iron Fist and the Velvet Glove podcast. The candidates, SEP (Australia) assistant national secretary Max Boddy and national committee member Warwick Dove, spoke about the socialist, anti-war program the party is advancing in the campaign for the May 3 federal election.

In a discussion lasting over an hour, host Trevor Bell questioned the SEP candidates on a wide range of issues, from the political and workplace experiences that drew them to the Trotskyist movement, to the phoney “antisemitism” witch hunt being used by state and federal Labor governments to attack democratic rights, to the need for a revolutionary socialist movement of the international working class as the only means of combatting the descent into global war.

The Iron Fist and the Velvet Glove podcast, which covers a range of political and social questions, was streamed live across a number of social media and online platforms. Monday night’s episode can be viewed in full above.
