The Railroad Workers Rank-and-File Committee has announced an online rally this Tuesday at 7 pm Eastern time to oppose Washington’s imposition of a contract that workers rejected to block a national strike. Register for the event here. All supporters of the railroaders are urged to attend.

Congress’s move is completely illegitimate. It is an attack on democratic and Constitutional rights, including the right to strike and the right to participate in a meaningful contract vote, not only of railroaders, but of the entire working class. If it succeeds, it will set a precedent that will be used against other sections of workers in the future.

The vote on Capitol Hill is not the end of our fight, but only the start of a new stage. We still haven’t agreed to anything. We still have no sick days, substandard wages and punitive attendance policies. Congress may have given themselves the “right” to order us to work under this contract, but workers don’t have to accept it. Railroad workers reserve the right to organize and prepare collective action in response.

Biden and the other millionaires in Washington say that their intervention to impose the deal was necessary to protect “working families” from the economic impact of a national strike. Attend Tuesday’s rally to show that workers support the railroaders, not the anti-strike law!

Congress is one of the most hated institutions in America. Now that Congress has acted against them, railroaders have more widespread support than ever. Workers are shocked and angered by the ramming through of this dictatorial bill.

Attend Tuesday’s meeting to hear from railroad workers and their allies in other industries. Attendees will also have the opportunity to speak to the meeting from the floor.

After you’ve registered for the meeting, send in a written statement of support for railroaders by emailing the RWRFC at railwrfc@gmail.com or by filling out the form below:
